New Wonders Reading Resources

Here is a sneak peak inside our whole group and small group reading time!

OUR FIRST GRADE READERS!!!!

I'm so happy to pass on the reading torch to my students!  They are doing a fantastic job picking a book to read to the class.

Race for Education

Students ran/jogged/walked their way to more technology available to our school!  They all tried very hard, I am so proud of them all!

Ms. Stotz

Ms. Stotz was a wonderful addition to our classroom.  She did a fantastic job working with the students.  We were sad to see her go.

Cinco De Mayo and Crazy Hair Day

Why not have crazy hair day on Cinco De Mayo?
We learned about Mexican culture and traditions.  Then we read "Chicks
and Salsa" together.  Students made text-to-self connections by identifying what the characters ate in the story and then wrote about what they like to eat.  We, of course, chowed down on some clips and salsa while we worked.  Ms. Lahey couldn't even get a chip in before they were all gone!

Story Teller

We attended a fantastic story telling assembly.  The presenter told engaging and interactive stories with the students.  She had their attention the whole time.

Easter Egg Hunt

And they're off...
First graders sure know how to find themselves some Easter eggs!
