Math: Ordinial Number Challenge and Roll and Rule

Adjectives: Describing Words

Students made posters of magazine pictures.  For each picture, students used an adjective to describe something they saw.
 





 


Cooperative Groups

My animal experts worked together in groups to identify how animal teams work together.


 

 

Then we created a web to display our work!

 

 

I am a Scientist: Animal Models

My scientists made models of animals to demonstrate how they find and eat food.

I couldn't resist a reason to use jelly beans to learn more about math.






Daily 5

Our school is transitioning over to using daily 5 during our reading instruction.  My students adjusted quickly to the transition because the activities are very similar to our center time.  Daily 5 allows students more opportunities to choose what they want to do as well as the freedom to choose where they want to do it.  I'm amazed at how well they have embraced the new style of learning.
Even though Daily 5 is not station rotations I will definitely use this list of ideas for prompts for the students.

My problem is, I keep rearranging the room to see what will work best!  My little ones have been very flexible with all the change.
