With
today’s reading lesson, students make inferences based on text vocabulary. I read them the book Gilbert Goldfish
Wants a Pet. They were not shown the
text illustrations or told who Gilbert was.
As we read the story the students made predications about who Gilbert
could be based on clues from the text.
They did a great job coming up with excellent predictions!
Then,
students wrote about a pet that they would like to have.
