Reading

Students have been working hard on the new common core skills.  We have been reading thorough and enriching books together as well as reading for fluency in our small groups.  Students have really been enjoying our “hour of power”.  They rotate through three, 20 minute stations.  The three stations are guided reading with Ms. Lahey, centers, and independent work.  Any work that is coming home not graded or marked is usually from centers and independent work.

Math

Students have just completed their unit 1 assessment.  We are moving on to unit 2: Making Shapes.  I know the students will look forward to using many math manipulatives during this unit.
